HOW IT WORKS

From the official pool to a passing grade.

INSIDE THE PLATFORM

What you get on every question.

SOURCE

Official pools, verbatim

Every question, choice and answer key is stored exactly as published in the NCVEC amateur pools and the FCC commercial pools. Each item points back to the source file it came from, and errata are logged when a pool is corrected.

CITE

Every answer is explained and cited

Explanations are written for this site and each one cites the 47 CFR section it tests (Part 97, Part 80 or Part 13) or shows a worked derivation. Calculation answers are checked by running the math in code, not by eye.

FIGURES

Real schematics, not redraws

Questions that refer to a circuit, block diagram or radar display show the official figure. All 43 figures are available full size, with zoom and rotate, on the question and in the figure gallery.

SCORE

A readiness score from your own answers

The IQ Readiness Score runs from 0 to 100. It is 60% answer accuracy and 40% coverage of the question pool, so it only climbs when you are both right and have seen enough of the material. It is a study guide, not a prediction of your result.

FOCUS

See weak spots by syllabus topic

Every question carries its official subelement code, such as T1A, G2B or E3C. Your misses are grouped by topic so you can spend study time where you are weakest instead of re-reading what you already know.

SIMULATE

A timed exam that mirrors the sitting

The simulator draws questions by the official subelement blueprint for that exam, runs the clock, and ends with a score and a topic-by-topic diagnostic so you know what to fix before test day.

WHY IT WORKS

Memorizing letters is a bad bet.

A question dump teaches you to recognize answer letters. The exam pools change, and the same concept reappears worded differently, so understanding the rule or formula carries over when memory does not.

Cramming a dump
  • Memorize answer letters with no reasoning behind them
  • No view of which syllabus topics are weak
  • Old pool versions that miss recent changes
  • Explanations that cannot be traced to a source
  • A failed sitting means paying the exam fee again
Studying with Airwaves IQ
  • The 47 CFR rule or worked formula behind every answer
  • Weak topics shown by official subelement code
  • Current NCVEC and FCC pools, with errata logged
  • Every claim tied to a cited source or checked math
  • A readiness score so you book when you are ready
TEST DAY AND AFTER

From practice to a license.

01

Study until the score holds

Work through the pool by topic, then take simulator runs. Aim for a readiness score you can repeat, not one good day.

02

Book an exam session

Amateur exams are given by Volunteer Examiner teams, in person or remotely. Commercial exams are given by a COLEM. Airwaves IQ does not administer exams, so you book with them directly.

03

Sit the real exam

The questions come from the same official pool you practiced on. Bring photo ID and whatever your session requires.

04

The FCC grants the license

After you pass, the FCC issues the license. Exam and filing fees are separate from Airwaves IQ and set by the FCC and your examiner.
