The Pass Guarantee.
UPDATED OCTOBER 2026
Pass your FCC exam, or get 100% of what you paid for your plan back. Here are the exact conditions, so there are no surprises.
How it works
- Buy a plan that covers your exam (the Single Exam Plan, the All Amateur Licenses Plan, or a commercial license plan) on airwaves-iq.com.
- Study until your IQ Readiness Score for that exam shows 80% or more, and complete the Exam Simulator for that exam at least once.
- Sit the official written exam for that element (at a VE session for amateur licenses, or with a COLEM for commercial licenses) while your Airwaves IQ access is active.
- If you do not pass, send us a claim through our contact form within 30 days of your exam date, then reply to our message with the proof listed below.
- We review your claim, and if it meets these conditions, we refund what you paid for that plan to your original payment method, and your access to that plan ends. Your bank may take 5 to 10 business days to show the refund.
What counts toward the 80%
Your IQ Readiness Score is built from the questions you answer and the timed runs you take. Marking a topic as complete is a study log, not a substitute for answering: on its own it cannot reach 80%, and it cannot complete the Exam Simulator. We check your screenshot for the score, the questions answered and the timed runs, and compare it with what a real study history looks like.
What to send us
- The email address you used to buy your plan.
- A screenshot of your Readiness page for that exam, showing your score, questions answered and timed runs, taken within 7 days before your exam.
- Proof of your official result showing that you did not pass, with the exam date visible, such as a written result from your VE team or COLEM. You may hide reference numbers and other personal details. If you were not given a written result, tell us in your claim and we will explain what we can accept.
What is not covered
- Purchases made in the Airwaves IQ mobile app. Those are billed by Apple or Google and follow their refund rules.
- Any exam other than the official written exam for the element you studied on Airwaves IQ, and anything outside that written exam, such as a Morse code test, FCC application processing, or a decision by the FCC on your license.
- Claims made more than 30 days after the exam date, or for an exam sat when your Airwaves IQ access was not active.
- More than one refund per purchase, or per customer for the same exam.
- Claims where the proof is missing or does not match our records. We may ask for more information before deciding.
Alongside your other rights
The Pass Guarantee is a refund of the price you paid for your plan, and nothing more. It does not cover FCC application fees, VE session or COLEM fees, travel or any other cost, and it does not limit any right you have under consumer protection law. Airwaves IQ is an independent study tool, not affiliated with the FCC, the NCVEC, any VEC or any COLEM, and we cannot promise that any question will appear on your exam. The full terms of sale are in our Terms of Use.
Make a claim
Send us the claim form with your plan email, the exam you sat and your exam date. We reply asking for your score screenshot and your result, which you attach to that reply.
